A simple, jurisdiction-specific approach.
Our mobile service requires your advance agreement to a separate travel charge, quoted at $50 and reduced if actual, reasonable travel expenses are lower. Once the notary starts traveling for your confirmed appointment, you remain responsible for the agreed, lawfully incurred travel expenses even if you cancel while the notary is on the way or after arrival, fail to attend, or no notarization is completed. This pays for travel, not a completed notarial act. In both Virginia and DC, the charge cannot exceed actual and reasonable travel expenses to a location other than the notary’s usual place of business. Travel charges are itemized separately in writing and are a business charge, not a government-required fee.
There is no $10-per-page notarization charge. A multi-page document may require one or several notarial acts. We confirm the act count and applicable fee after reviewing the requirements. There are no automatic parking, toll, waiting, weekend, or after-hours surcharges.

Before departure
We confirm availability and provide the proposed itemized charges. No appointment is confirmed until accepted by Askersson LLC. Payment method and timing are agreed at confirmation.
If the visit cannot proceed
Customer cancellation does not waive travel expenses already incurred under the advance agreement. If you cancel while the notary is on the way or after the notary arrives, the agreed travel expenses remain payable, up to the quoted $50 and never more than actual, reasonable expenses permitted by law. The same rule applies if you do not attend or the notarization cannot proceed. No notarial fee is charged for an act not performed.
